The Chair of Insularity at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) announces the first edition of awards aimed at researchers, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in fields related to the study of insularity in the Balearic Islands and the EU, prioritizing topics in geography, other social sciences (economics, law, tourism), and environmental studies.

The Chair of Insularity is offering:

• Two awards for Doctoral Theses (TD), each worth €1,500.
• Two awards for Master’s Theses (TFM), each worth €1,000.
• Four awards for Undergraduate Theses (TFG), each worth €500.
• One award for the best project applied to entrepreneurship, worth €500. This award may be granted in addition to the others and does not exclude previous winners.

Candidates must have submitted and passed their TFM or TFG during the 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24 academic years. For TD, candidates must have completed their thesis during the 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24 academic years.

The deadline for registration is May 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
